75 years ago, during the establishment of the state of Israel, over 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their homes. Palestinians refer to this as the Nakba, meaning “catastrophe.”
During the Nakba, more than 500 Palestinian villages were destroyed and 15,000 Palestinians were killed.
Today, the number of Palestinian refugees and their descendants stands at around 7 million, making them one of the largest refugee populations globally.
These refugees face ongoing challenges as they strive to reclaim their rightful homes and lands—a right protected by UN Resolution 194.
