The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung (RLS) is a German political foundation that is active throughout Germany and internationally. In the spirit of its namesake, the socialist Rosa Luxemburg, it seeks to promote peace, democracy, social justice, and democratic socialism.

The RLS Regional Office Palestine & Jordan is looking for a program consultant in Palestine to support the implementation of a program of dialogue and political scenarios about Palestine. The program involves progressive Palestinian stakeholders, like (young) politicians, multipliers, and activists etc., from Palestine and the Palestinian diaspora jointly developing future political scenarios for a democratic Palestine and introducing these scenarios into international discourse by meeting with European politicians and decision makers. This program will take place as a pilot program in 2022.

The successful applicant will work as contractor (one year).


Context of the Program

The RLS plans to implement a program that will strengthen political engagement and participation in the Palestinian territories. As part of the program, progressive Palestinian political figures will be supported to both develop democratic visions for the future and to promote them in an international political arena.


Objectives of the Program Consulting  


The program consultant is expected to work towards the following objectives:

  • Supporting the setup of the working group
  • Conducting administrative and organizational aspects of the program (i.e. meetings, travelling affairs etc.)
  • Preparing digital and personal meetings in cooperation with process facilitators and RLS staff
  • Accompanying working group throughout the program, including (digital/personal) meetings, workshops, and travelling
  • Continuous reporting to different RLS stakeholders
  • Connecting all aspects of the program between participating stakeholders in and outside Palestine
  • Supporting process facilitators in preparing, implementing, evaluating, and documenting the program/work of working groups
  • Reporting on political developments in/on Palestine relevant to the program and themes of working group


Applicant Requirements

  • A high level of expertise in the political, social, and economic situation and current developments in Palestine as well as in the Palestinian diaspora
  • A high level of knowledge of the Palestinian progressive scenery (actors, streams, challenges etc.) in and outside of Palestine, in particular of progressive multipliers from politics, civil society and academia
  • A high level of knowledge of international discourses, debates, and cooperation related to Palestine
  • Interest in working in an international context, including travelling
  • Experience in working with groups, administration, organization
  • Expert communication and cooperation skills, highly self-organized, self-reflective, conflict sensitive, team player, and with a proactive approach to work
  • Language requirements: very good spoken and written English, Arabic
